Dear Peony Lovers and Customers,

Full Bloom Farm has experienced exuberant growth over the first years since opening for sales of peony root divisions in 2004. Though we have planted new varieties and replanted root divisions every year to replenish our offerings, sales have continued to outpace our ability to replace stock. It is time to slow down and let the peonies grow.

We are curtailing sales of root divisions until we feel we have given the peonies adequate time to regenerate. This is not an easy decision, but we are determined to remain a manageable size. To continue selling at the pace set by the first few years, we would need to expand our planting areas. So we have decided we will remain a small sustainable farm and give time its due.

This year we will content ourselves with selling cut peonies. We are selling at the farm, in the island store, and at the Community Food Co-op in Bellingham, WA. We are also accepting custom orders for weddings and other special events. Look for our new Cut Flowers page on the website (coming soon).

Thank you for visiting our website and for your past interest and support. Our farm is open to visitors year around and especially during bloom season. We encourage you to visit.

Full Bloom Peony Farm, Display Gardens and Vacation Rentals are located on a rural Pacific Northwest island near Bellingham, Washington, where the climate and conditions are perfect for peony culture — deep, sandy loam soil, moderate rainfall, and cold winters. We grow our peonies organically — no pesticides or herbicides are used — and the resulting plants are uncommonly robust.

The award-winning gardens surrounding our Vacation Rental cottage and apartment are beautiful in all seasons — an ever-changing plant tapestry. The peony fields are a stunning sight in mid-spring to early summer in full bloom. (Read what some of our visitors have said about staying here!)

Our annual Open Garden, Peony Show and Sale each Memorial Day Weekend, attracts hundreds of visitors — garden lovers, peony enthusiasts, artists, and photographers. Our gardens are open by appointment throughout the year.
