At Full Bloom Farm we grow Peonies the old-fashioned way. We grow using sustainable methods and practices, the digging is done carefully, by hand, not by machine, and the 3-5 eye divisions are lovingly handled and carefully packed for mailing, one at a time. We never store our peonies in coolers. They are dug and sent to you immediately. Our peonies are vigorous, disease free, and toxin free. We grow many more varieties than we advertise each year. Peonies grow well and thrive in zones 2 - 8.  In warmer climates peonies will not have enough chilling hours to bloom and grow successfully.  Please consult the National Gardening Association website to find information on your zone.  We do not ship to Hawaii.

About Intersectional Peonies                                                   

Intersectional hybrid peonies are produced by crossing herbaceous “garden” peonies with tree peonies. Intersectional peonies are also known as Itoh hybrids — named after Mr. Toichi Itoh — the first to successfully cross tree peonies with herbaceous peonies. The reason that breeders began doing this was their desire to create yellow herbaceous peonies. Intersectional peonies exhibit tree peony flowers and foliage on plants that are herbaceous in habit. They come in many colors and shades, but yellow and warm orange shades are frequently attained. Intersectional peonies are cut down in the fall and generally treated in the garden as herbaceous peonies. They have strong stems, a full rounded habit and do not require staking. The flowers tend toward semi-double and many are fragrant. These are truly stunning plants. They are more difficult to propagate than are herbaceous peonies and are still hard to get – hence the relatively high price. Intersectional peonies are supremely satisfying plants – breathtakingly beautiful, rugged, deer proof, drought tolerant, and trouble free.

You can order our peonies online safely and securely by clicking on the Shopping Cart buttons next to each peony. Our credit card processor is PayPal, and you do not need a PayPal account in order to use your Visa, Mastercard or American Express card.  This year we are charging a flat $12.00 shipping charge to all domestic destinations via Priority Mail.  Your peony roots will arrive 3-5 days after mailing.

We guarantee our plants will arrive in robust health, ready to plant. We send planting and cultivation instructions with your order. Orders are shipped in September and October, leaving plenty of time for you to plant in your garden before winter freezes.

While we cannot guarantee each and every plant will grow successfully in every instance, we do guarantee that you will receive healthy and well-grown divisions.  If, for some reason your peony does not thrive the first year, please let us know. We will do all we can to help diagnose the problem and help you correct it.  We want you to be happy and successful.
